Young Israel Oheb Zedek

Young Israel Ohab Zedek of North Riverdale/Yonkers is a warm and welcoming community synagogue that aspires to be the religious, intellectual and spiritual home for each of its members.
Founded in 1979 by a small group of pioneers, the Young Israel of North Riverdale merged with Congregation Ohab Zedek of Yonkers in 1991 and moved in to its present location, The Morris and Marilyn Sopher Building at 6015 Riverdale Avenue.
Rabbi Shmuel Hain was appointed Rabbi of Young Israel Ohab Zedek of North Riverdale/Yonkers in 2006. Since his arrival, membership has doubled and YIOZ has transformed into a vibrant community synagogue.

Recently relocated to a beautiful building in Ludlow Park, Sons of Israel offers warm, Modern Orthodox services for adults and children along with holiday programming and community events. Located within the Riverdale Eruv, the new shul building features large indoor and outdoor areas for kids, and can accomodate Shabbat visitors looking for a place to stay.
In Summer 2015, the Ludlow Park Jewish Community welcomed its new Rabbi and Rebbetzin - Yitzy and Esther Kleinman.
